About
Us
The
purpose of this is to provide general information to the guardians,
and students about this institution, so that it may be helpful
for them to abide by all the rules and regulations of the
Academy. We will be all there to discover and promote the
talent and potentialities of your ward and I personally request
you all to co-operate with the institution so that we can
achieve our goal.
Today's
children are tomorrow's citizen and they are real wealth of
our Nation. Kindly bless them with good education you must
all remember that you can't buy education and training, it
is imparted and given by a Guru from the core of his/her heart.
The relation of Guru and Shishya is the greatest relation
in the world. We will not leave any stone unturned in training
your ward, so that he can be very useful to the society.
Kindly
avoid writing too many letters to your ward by this he/she
will feel homesickness and thus the time is wasted. We will
be there with the grace of Almighty to give fatherly and motherly
affection to your ward and hope we would be able to make your
ward an exception in the society.
It
is very essential to have regards for Gurus (Teachers) and
Administrative staff, if you misbehave with any person of
Dr. Maria Residential Academy, then your ward's name will
be struck off from Academy's roll. All the complaints can
be done humbly and respectfully to avoid tensions.
Our
Profile
The
Mohan Shiksha Sadan Society was founded by Shri S. K. Mohan
retired from Indian Air Force in 1976. Under the Societies
Registration Act XXI of 1860. It was open to all boys/girls
irrespective of Caste, Creed or social Status at west Shivaji
Nagar, Shahganj, Agra
Dr.
Maria Montessory
She was initially a Doctor born in Italy in 18th Century.
Shri Mohan was influenced by her. She up-lifted the mentally
retarded children those who were cast out by society and she
invented a new method of teaching by play way method. Later
she became the world renowned educationist.
Academy
Premises
The academy is situated in the city of Taj near about 8 km.
from the Taj Mahal and 1 km from great Sikandra on Sikandra-Bodla
Road, Agra, in 8 acres of land surrounded by tall green trees.
It is only one of its kind in Agra.
Medium
of Instruction
The medium of instruction in school is purely English, however
Hindi is taught as one of the compulsory subject.
Aim and Organization
Besides purely academic education, the aim of institution
is to discover and promote the talents and potentialities
of the individual. The environment and the curricular and
co-curricular activities are carefully planned to suit the
different stages of development. The students are trained
in self discipline, team work and fair play above all, the
ideals of Indian culture are fostered so that the students
will become useful member of society and would be capable
of taking their place as a responsible citizen of India. There
is no religion preaching to any student,
Character
Building
This is the most important aspect of education and forms the
basis of all activities and of the social life in the School
and Hostel. Emphasis is laid on inculcating in them the dignity
of labour in an atmosphere of mutual help and co-operation.

The girls/boys are required to choose at least one hobby compulsorily

Library
The School is having a good library. The reading room is provided
with newspaper and magazine and the students are encouraged
to read to be in touch with current affairs. There are many
books on advance studies.
Educational
Trips
In addition to the regular creative and cultural activities
mentioned above. Excursion and educational trips also form
a regular feature of the School curriculum. For excursion
parents have to pay extra money.
Physical
Activities
It is compulsory for every student (boys/girls) to do the
daily exercise and learn to play various organized games.
Hockey, Cricket, Throw-Ball, Basket-Bail, Volley-Bail, Badminton,
Foot-Ball are among the team games played at School. The School
has ample space for these activities.
There
is a huge swimming pool in the school. Swimming is taught
by the trained swimming instructor.
Coaching
by a trained teacher in physical education is provided for
all physical activities. Skating is taught by very efficient
instructors. We take full precaution during training. If any
boy/girl is hurt while playing or learning the school will
not be responsible.
Hostel
The hostel is under the administrative control of chief warden
assisted by a hostel warden and house mistresses, who are
looking after the students.
There
are separate hostels for boys and girls. Each hostel is having
dormitory and a common room. The common room is equipped with
T.V., Radio and other recreating facilities.
There
is a mess measuring 70x40 feet with a nice serving counter
where vegetarian nutritious food is provided. Non-vegetarian
food will not be provided to any student. 1 Lt. milk, food,
fruits, butter, fresh vegetables are included in the daily
diet. Mess menu is made by the students' house wise.
Health
and Medical
The student will be medically examined at the time of admission
and thereafter regularly by a qualified doctor. No medically
or physically unfit boy/girl will be allowed for admission.
The doctor is visiting the hostel regularly. A regular record
of the weight and height of each student will be kept. In
case of serious illness or if a long term treatment will be
required the parents will be informed. Girls/Boys who always
complain about sickness and bring medical certificate for
exemption from daily routine training will be debarred to
attend the classes from the next session.
Discipline
and Training
Discipline in the institution is mainly through healthy tradition
and through organized activity which gives scope for responsibility,
co-operative efforts and leadership. It also includes the
emphasis on quality of self reliance, integrity and awareness.
What
is expected out of Dr. Maria Residential Academy's student?
-
They should take good care of their health and be robust
strong.
- They
should always be friendly with others in the institution.
- They
should avoid vulgarity in talk and behaviour.
- They
should accept what ever work is assigned to them as their
rightful share. They should face difficulties courageously.
- They
should always be ready to lend a helping hand at home to
their parents, brothers and sisters, in school to teachers
and companions and any unattended visitor they happen to
meet in the school premises.
- They
should stand up when any teacher or visitor comes to talk
to them.
- They
should be truthful whatever the cost.
- They
should respect the beauty of the class room and of the school
premises and report any damage they may observe.
- They
should not waste their time in idle gossips.
- It
is expected out of every student to keep up the educational
as well as medical standard in 'A1 category.
- They
should be proud in wearing their school uniform.
- Last
but not the least they must adopt the Indian culture by
touching the feet of their parents by the boys and Namaste
by the girls.
The
school routine and training involves physical and other activities
during the course of which girl/boy may be exposed to accidental
injuries inspite of all precautions.
The
school will not be held responsible for any such eventualities.

No
Bill Issued
Please note that no separate bill is issued from the office
asking for payment of fee. The parents/guardians are expected
to pay fee by the prescribed date.
All
sums due to the academy must be paid by Bank Draft or Cash
Payment. No cheques will be accepted.
Withdrawl
Notice of withdraw! must be given at least a month and half
before beginning of the session. The school would have the
right to withhold the leaving and other certificates and promotion
as long as all School dues have not been paid in full by the
parent/guardian concerned.
We
